The live pak choi originates from China, a super digestive plant that can accompany your raw, sautéed or steamed dishes. The truth is that cooked it is much more recommendable, as it will develop sweet nuances and its bitter touches will be softened. Its smooth green leaves may remind you of mustard.

Although its production is very popular mainly in Asia, in recent years it has also reached Europe. It belongs to the cruciferous family; this means that it is a ‘cousin’ of vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, watercress and radish.

Moving on to fun facts, in Hong Kong the Pak Choi is considered a symbol of fortune. That is why it is used in celebrations such as weddings. This plant can also be an ally for the maintenance of teeth and skin, as well as promoting eye health. It works as an antioxidant, healing and helps prevent anaemia.
