Cuban Mojito

Descripción: Do you want to prepare one of the most popular cocktails? Summer is an ideal time to enjoy the mojito, whether on the beach or at night in a bar. This drink has its origins in Cuba and is made with rum, lime or lemon, sugar, ice and mint. It is said that it was Ernest Hemingway himself who made the Cuban mojito famous in Europe, after tasting it in Havana (specifically in the traditional restaurant ‘La bodeguita del medio’). Over time, in the field of mixology, other variants of the cocktail have been born, with strawberry, mango or other delicious fruits, but on this occasion we present the recipe for the classic mojito.

Ingredientes:

Vegetales GiB® usados:

menta viva
Live mint

Elaboración paso a paso

1- Squeeze the lime completely into the glass.

2- Add the sugar and mix.

3- Add the mint and crush it a little, DO NOT crush or break the leaves.

4- Add ice up to half the glass.

5- Add the sparkling water, approximately ⅔ of the glass.

6- Finally, add the rum. This will depend on the taste of each person, 40 ml is a regular measure.

7- At the end, you can decorate the glass with more mint leaves. In the case of the Cuban mojito, it’s best to drink it through a straw, just because of the leaves – just make sure you buy sustainable straws!
